Singapore Biodiversity Race: Nature Society Singapore x Mandai 2026

Terms and conditions

By signing up for and participating in the Singapore Biodiversity Race: Nature Society Singapore x Mandai 2026 (the “Event”) held at Bird Paradise and Singapore Zoo on 29 August 2026 (“Event Day”) and organised by the Mandai Wildlife Group (or “MWG”, both as defined in the Parks Rules and Conditions found at https://www.mandai.com/en/plan-your-visit/parks-rules-conditions.html (“Parks Rules and Conditions”)), you hereby agree and acknowledge that you have read and understood, and accept these terms and conditions (“T&Cs”). 

MWG reserves the right to (a) cancel, change or modify the Event, and/or (b) make changes to these T&Cs, from time to time, in any way, and without prior notice to you.

1. Each team participating in the Event ("Team") must:
   1. have a minimum of 2 participants and a maximum of 4 participants (the “Participants”);
   2. ensure that at least one (1) Participant is aged 18 years old and above (“Adult Participant”). All Participants below the age of 18 years old must be supervised by an Adult Participant at all times during the Event and Participants under the age of 6 years old must be accompanied by an Adult Participant at all times; and
   3. ensure that each and every Participant has a valid membership (i.e., Friends of Mandai, Friends of Mandai Plus, Friends of Mandai Premium, Friends of Mandai Ultimate or Friends of Mandai Premium Plus membership) allowing entry to Bird Paradise and Singapore Zoo (“Valid Membership”) at the time of the Event
2. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and is only confirmed upon successful payment of the S$20.00 nett registration fee per Team (“Registration Fee”) during the online registration.
3. Teams found to have Participants with no Valid Membership during onsite registration on the Event Day will have their Team’s registration voided and no refund of the Registration Fee will be issued. For clarity, for Teams where only some Participants hold Valid Memberships, only the Members may participate in the Event as a Team, subject to the minimum group size requirement of at least two (2) Participants per Team.
4. Participants are required to present their e-card (as defined in the respective memberships under the Membership Terms & Conditions found at https://www.mandai.com/en/memberships/terms-and-conditions.html (“Membership T&Cs”)) via the Membership Portal during onsite registration for verification purposes. Screenshots of the e-cards will not be accepted.
5. MWG reserves the right to deny participation to any Participant who is unable to produce an e-card.
6. MWG reserves the right to (i) disqualify and/or exclude any Participant from the Event, or (ii) withdraw, invalidate, or claw back a prize, for any reason, including without limitation, violation of these T&Cs, inappropriate or unreasonable behaviour, breaking of any rules, or cheating.
7. Registration Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, including in the event of no-show by Participants or a Team,
8. Participants are responsible for ensuring that registration details submitted online are accurate.
9. Each Team is required to download, set up, and onboard the iNaturalist Classic application ("App") on one Participant’s mobile phone before the Event Day. A compulsory online training session (“Session”) will be conducted prior to the Event Day. Participants who are unable to attend the session must review the training recording and ensure that the App is fully set up and functional before the Event Day. Failure to do so may affect participation and submission of observations during the Event.
10. Each Team must bring at least one (1) mobile phone capable of downloading and using the App, as all submissions and photo uploads will be done through the App during the Event.
11. The Event is a rain-or-shine event.
12. Participants are to note that the attractions in the Mandai Wildlife Reserve will operate according to normal opening hours (as indicated at https://www.mandai.com/en.html). Entry into the attractions before official opening hours is strictly prohibited.
13. By participating in the Event, each Participant:
    1. Acknowledges that they are participating in the Event at their own risk and accepts that they must exercise caution at all times;
    2. warrants to indemnify and hold harmless MWG from and against any and all claims, losses, damages and liabilities of any nature that MWG may suffer or incur arising from or in connection with (a) the Participant’s participation in the Event, (b) breach of these T&Cs, or (c) the use or acceptance of any prize; and
    3. consents to be photographed or recorded by MWG and allow MWG perpetual use of the participant’s name, voice, images, appearance, biography and/or likeness for editorial, advertising, promotional, marketing and/or other purposes without further compensation to the participant, to the extent permitted by law.
14. Participation in the Event does not entitle Participants to any special access, priority entry, privileges, or benefits outside of their existing membership entitlements.
15. On the Event Day, all Participants must register at the entrance of Bird Paradise Learning Centre and collect an official Event wristband (“Wristband”). Wristbands are non-transferable. Participants without a Wristband will be denied entry into Zoo Learning Centre activity areas and prize presentation sessions.
16. All prize decisions made by MWG are final, conclusive, and binding. No correspondence, appeals, or disputes regarding the awarding of prizes will be entertained.
17. Further terms and conditions apply in respect of the prizes.
18. Acceptance of any prize shall constitute the Participant’s acceptance of these T&Cs, and a release and discharge of MWG from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, losses and/or damages which the participant may have, whether known or unknown at the present time, of any nature whatsoever, arising from or in connection with (i) the Event, (ii) any personal injury and/or property damage, theft or loss suffered by the Participant as a result of the use and/or enjoyment of a prize, and/or (iii) any tax liabilities in relation to the Event, prize, and/or use or enjoyment of the same.
19. By participating in the Event, each Participant shall be deemed to have consent to the MWG Personal Data Protection Policy: https://www.mandai.com/en/about-mandai/our-policies/data-protection.html.
20. Participants shall at all times comply with the Park Tickets Terms and Conditions found at https://www.mandai.com/en/park-terms.html and the Parks Rules and Conditions.
21. In the event of disputes regarding the Event or these T&Cs, MWG’s decision shall be final, conclusive and binding on all Participants and no correspondence or appeals will be entertained.
22. These T&Cs shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
